Note №11
Present Context
24 February, 2025
Eras change from scarcity to surplus, then to integration as a whole, then scarcity forms again, followed by a gradual accumulation of surplus, and once more the time for integration comes.
A metaphor for the future era is that the new is the familiar old. The problem of the current era is a surplus of everything without synthesis.
Today, for the first time, all knowledge throughout history has been summarized, and we are not sure what to do with it. This is our main challenge.
But first, it is important to realize that we habitually think in an extended present. To avoid feeling that the world is changing too rapidly, it is necessary to adjust temporal settings.
On a minute-by-minute scale, it seems that everything is moving incredibly fast. On a weekly scale, however, there is silence, and no new ideas emerge while we continue realizing old concepts from the 1960s.
